In “Alive: Music for Night of the Living Dead,” a guitar-and-drum duo called Modern Robot accompanies the cult classic zombie film with a live soundtrack.

As if a midnight showing of a film about a cannibalistic zombie horde wasn’t creepy enough, the soundtrack that North Carolina-based Modern Robot dubs over the film is appropriately spine-tingling.

At points, the drum and guitar were a bit overwhelming, most likely due to the limited space in the theater where the showing took place. Although appropriate for some of the more pivotal scenes of the film, at times, the music made some of the dialogue in the movie a bit hard to hear.

Still, the sheer musicianship displayed by the duo was something to behold. The soundtrack fit the mood of the film well.

The Fringe Factor: Walking out of the theater at 1 in the morning felt a bit unsettling — which was most likely the point. Luckily, no zombies deprived of the taste of human flesh popped out from behind the trees at Loch Haven Park.

Curtain Call: If you like music and classic film, you’ll enjoy this mashup.

Where & When: Yellow venue, 60 minutes, $10, 13 and up. 8:45 p.m. May 21; 11:59 p.m. May 26; 10:15 p.m. May 27.
